HEPATITIS C

If you or someone you care about has been diagnosed with Hepatitis C, find your local support group. Get good reliable information, and work with your doctors. Love, Faith, information and support will get you through most anything.

Do not believe all that you read, there is a lot of false information going around, especially on the internet. Investigate your sources and feel comfortable with them before you pass information along to others.

When I was first diagnosed, I panicked and believed all that I was told. It cost me relationships, friendships and caused undue hardships on all of us involved.

For about 5 years, I tried to get my doctors to test me and none would. When one finally did, I called her office about a prescription and she came to the phone and told me that I needed to wear a condom, because I either had Hepatitis B or C and was infectious. What a bedside manner!!! She finally told me that it was C. I went to a specialist who straightened out the condom story and many others. By that time a lot of damage was done by misinformation.

A friend directed me to my local support group and I have learned a lot through them and received true information, first hand advice and support from the group. I suggest that you find one locally or on the internet. But, beware of misleading information.

I suggest that you enter treatment with an exercise program in place and a positive attitude. A good Church family could not hurt either. The power of prayer is great.

I will be adding informational links as I get them. Good Luck and Godspeed.
